First Bombardier Challenger 850 executive jet completed by Lufthansa Technik
Montreal, Quebec, Nov. 8, 2006 - Bombardier Aerospace today announced the first delivery of a Challenger 850 executive business jet to a Russian customer. It also marks the first Challenger 850 aircraft completed by Lufthansa Technik of Hamburg, Germany.
"This first Challenger 850 executive aircraft delivery highlights the ongoing confidence business jet customers have demonstrated in all members of the Challenger widebody aircraft family," said Jahid Fazal-Karim, senior vice-president, new aircraft sales, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "Market interest worldwide is solid for both the executive and shuttle variants of the Challenger 850, particularly in Russia, where there is continued strong demand for the executive version."
This is the first Challenger 850 executive completion by Lufthansa Technik. The company has over 40 years of experience in VIP completions of large aircraft interiors and offers the latest technology and materials to provide innovative and elegant executive interiors, matching the superb quality of the Challenger 850 aircraft itself. Bombardier and Lufthansa Technik signed an agreement securing completion positions for 17 Challenger 850 executive jets in November 2005.
"The first delivery in any program is always an important milestone," said Bernhard Conrad, senior vice-president completion center and head of approved design organization, Lufthansa Technik. "We are proud of the superior quality of this aircraft interior and are on track with the completion of another five aircraft."
This milestone delivery of a Challenger 850 executive aircraft follows the entry-into-service of a first Challenger 850 corporate shuttle in March 2006. The Bombardier Challenger 850 executive aircraft combines the outstanding dependability of a CRJ200 airliner with an executive cabin and the superior level of support business aircraft customers demand. The large cabin Challenger 850, featuring a transcontinental range of 3,044 nautical miles (5,636 km)* sets the benchmark for comfort class jets.
