Tadiran Communications will act as subcontractor for Elbit Systems, Prime Contractor for ADR and DAP
(Petach Tikva, Israel, December 6, 2006) -- Tadiran Communications announces the receipt of an order from Elbit Systems, in the amount of US$ 23.6 million, for the development and supply of certain modules and assemblies of the advanced tactical high-speed data radio for the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Digital Army Program (DAP) - one of the most important programs in the field. The project is planned to continue until 2011.
According to Senior VP of Tadiran Communications, Amos Weizman, this order is the result of Tadiran's ongoing investment in the development of advanced technologies in the area of wireless data communications - as well as its proven accomplishments and capabilities in this field. It is strategically important for the company, since it positions Tadiran Communications as the main supplier of advanced tactical voice and data radio solutions for the Ground Forces of the Israeli Army.
This project, says Weizman, positions Tadiran Communications at the technological forefront in all aspects of high-speed data transmission, and enables it to advance technologically in the development of the next generations of radios.
