Aviapartner Cargo wins Finnair contract
(Brussels, 20 December 2006) -- Aviapartner, Europe's leading independent ground handler, is proud to announce that it has signed a contract with Finnair for the provision of cargo-handling services in Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris-CDG.
The contract in Brussels and Amsterdam has been effective since the beginning of December. In Paris-CDG Aviapartner will start handling Finnair's cargo as of the beginning of January.
For the three stations, Aviapartner Cargo is handling 68 flights per week for a total yearly volume of 7,500 tons. This means 14 flights in Amsterdam, 19 in Brussels and 35 in Paris, most of them operated with A320 and Embraer 170 aircraft. But Finnair also uses A330 and MD11 aircraft, to serve an extensive Asian market. In Brussels and Amsterdam, Aviapartner has already been providing ramp handling and cargo transport services to Finnair for several years.
Theo Dilissen, CEO of Aviapartner comments: "This new cargo-handling contract with Finnair at three stations perfectly illustrates our network strategy and highlights our position as a preferred supplier of integrated network deals in Europe. It must also be seen in the framework of our desire to develop our activities in the main European cargo hubs. We are therefore extremely happy that Finnair has decided to entrust Aviapartner Cargo with its cargo handling services in these three important airports."
