Orders for $60 million have been received against the original contract ceiling of $80 million
(Petach Tikva, Israel, January 23, 2007) -- Tadiran Communications announced the receipt of a $45 million increase in the contract ceiling for the total life cycle support of an advanced tactical radio system for the US Army. This major Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with the US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) was received by the company's wholly owned US subsidiary, Talla-Tech. The original $80M contract was signed at the end of 2004.
Due to the successful use of these systems in various global battle arenas, the contract ceiling was raised to $125 Million. To date, the company has received orders valued at more than $60 million against the original contract ceiling of $80 million. The contract covers complete life cycle support over a period of three years for the Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS).
Talla-Tech, which has supported the SINCGARS system since its inception in 1999, will serve as the prime contractor, and will subcontract a significant part of the manufacturing and engineering to its parent company, Talla-Com.
IDIQ contracts enable the customer to submit partial orders for products and services as needed, with minimum advance notice, up to but not exceeding the total quantities and monetary values specified in the contract.
According to Amos Weizman, CEO-Designate of Tadiran Communications, "We are witnessing a significant increase in Tadiran Communications' activities in the U.S., via the company's U.S. subsidiaries. The increase in the value of this contract is evidence of the American customer's satisfaction with the products offered by Tadiran Communications and its subsidiaries, which are based on the world's most advanced technology and know-how."
