(MCLEAN, Va., February 19, 2007) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a follow-on contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to enhance the agency's management information system that provides federal government and U.S. Department of Defense users access to unclassified documents.
The repository, known as the Acquisition Streamlining and Standardization Information System (ASSIST), is a robust, comprehensive life-cycle document management and digital library. It provides Web access to all current military and federal specifications and standards referenced in Defense Department contracts.
Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will develop new applications and enhancements for the ASSIST Web site and maintain existing applications, databases and document repositories. This work will be done within a secure environment that meets information assurance requirements. The company will also modernize the user and maintenance platforms and provide help desk technical support.
"Northrop Grumman will draw on its wide experience base to support ASSIST, as well as our comprehensive suite of innovative technologies and solutions, to deliver a world-class product to the Defense Logistics Agency," said Linda A. Mills, president of Northrop Grumman IT's Civilian Agencies group.
Work on the contract will be conducted in Chantilly, Va., and Philadelphia over a 10-month base period with four one-year options.
