SELEX Sistemi Integrati Wins 22 M Euro Contract in India for Two Complete Air Traffic Control Systems
(Rome, March 19, 2007) -- SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, will supply for the first time two complete air traffic control centres (ATC).
The company subscribed two contracts with the Indian Airport Authority, for a total amount of 22 million euros, that will provide the total equipment of the two new airports of Bangalore e Hydarabad with ATC facilities.
SELEX Sistemi Integrati has been awarded the contracts after a tender among the main companies active in the ATC field.
The delivery is expected 12 months after the contract signature.
Both airports will be fitted with the same technical capabilities: a primary ATCR- 33-S-DPC radar, a secondary SIR-S radar, and an ASMGCS system for surveillance of land manoeuvres.
The supply also includes an Area Control Centre, made of 16 posts, digital and automated systems for telecommunication and information (ATIS), navaids (ILS and DME), VHF communication systems, logistic support (operators training and after sales assistance).
The agreement closed with the Indian Airport Authority, consolidates SELEX Sistemi Integrati' s leadership in India also in the air traffic control systems' field.
These new contracts, in fact, have been signed after the agreement, subscribed in 2003, which will provide the Indian Air Force with 12 radar systems and a control centre.
