Alion Awarded $23.1 M Contract to Support Navy Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force

Technology solutions provider will help with independent research, technical and analytical support

(McLean, Va., July 23, 2007) -- Alion Science and Technology, an employee-owned technology solutions company, has won a $23.1 million omnibus contract award to support the Commander Naval Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR).

Under the COMOPTEVFOR contract vehicle, Alion will conduct independent research and provide technical and analytical support for acquisition and fleet introduction decisions of naval aviation, surface, subsurface, and space systems relied on by the fleet.

The contract includes a base year and four, one-year option periods, which, if exercised, would bring the total contract award to $115.5 million; the annual contract ceiling is $23.1 million. Initial work is expected to be completed by July 2008, but the contract could run until July 2012 if all options are exercised.

"This award further establishes Alion's support of the Navy's T&E community," said Rod Riddick, Alion Senior Vice President and Manager of the Integration Solutions Group. "We look forward to helping the Navy achieve its goals of testing and delivering critical state-of-the-art ships and systems to the fleet."
