Thales Launches New U.S. Initiative

C4ISR Portfolio Expanded

(Clarksburg, Md., September 18, 2007) -- Thales Communications, Inc. announces the formation of a new operating entity focused on broadening the company's offerings to the U.S. Department of Defense. A wide range of C4ISR domain technologies, including optronics, will now be marketed and supported in the U.S. through an expansion of the Thales Communications organization.

Thales Communications is already a successful U.S. gateway for Thales technologies. In 2003, the company launched a new naval and maritime communications business, which is successfully delivering Thales' automated, integrated shipboard high frequency (HF) communication systems into the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.

Diane Reineke will lead the new organization as vice president. A member of the Thales Communications senior leadership team since 2004, she served as vice president of business development for Thales Communications during a period of significant growth and success delivering the company's software-defined tactical radio systems to all branches of the military. Prior to joining Thales in 2004, Ms. Reineke spent more than 20 years at Lockheed Martin, where her last position was director, business development, Army C4I programs.

"With her thorough understanding of the U.S. markets and impressive track record of bringing the most innovative, responsive solutions to customers, Diane is the ideal choice to head up this important initiative," said Mitch Herbets, CEO and president of Thales Communications. "Her leadership will enable Thales to bring even greater capabilities to our warfighters."
