American Science and Engineering, Inc. Receives $13.1 M Service and Maintenance Renewal Contract from U.S. DoD for ZBVs

(Billerica, Mass., September 28, 2007) -- American Science and Engineering, Inc. (AS&E(R)) (NASDAQ: ASEI), a leader in X-ray detection technology, announced today the receipt of a service renewal contract from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for $13.1 million to support their fleet of Z(R) Backscatter Vans(TM) (ZBV(TM)). This contract is a renewal of AS&E service, support, and labor warranty for a significant quantity of Z Backscatter Vans, the majority located in high-risk areas.
