Implant Sciences Ships Twenty Six Explosives Detectors to Japan

Quantum Sniffer H-150 detectors to be used by Japanese government in connection with its security efforts

(Wakefield, Mass., October 22, 2007) -- Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: IMX) today announced the recent shipment of twenty six Quantum Sniffer H-150 handheld explosives detectors to Japan during the end of its first quarter of fiscal 2008. These detectors will be used by the Japanese government in their continuing security efforts. However, for reasons of confidentiality and security, no further detail as to the use and locations of the equipment is permitted. This sale was facilitated by the Company's authorized distributor for the Japanese territory.

Phillip C. Thomas, Implant Sciences President and CEO, commented, "This order represents our first significant installation in the Japanese marketplace. We are pleased the Japanese government has recognized our technology as a front line explosives detection resource in their security efforts. This order was made possible through our demonstration of the benefits and differentiators of our technology in a marketplace where our competition has had a strong foothold for many years. We look forward to continued success in the placement of additional explosives detection equipment in Japan in the future."
