ST Engineering's Aerospace Arm Inducts First ANA A320 Into Its Shanghai Facility Upon Receipt Of JCAB Certification
(Singapore, November 2, 2007) -- Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced the induction of the first All Nippon Airways' (ANA) Airbus A320 family of aircraft into Shanghai Technologies Aerospace Company Limited (STARCO), the Shanghai maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility of its aerospace arm Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace). ANA is STARCO's first Japanese customer.
This induction follows the signing of a letter of intent (LOI) in early October this year, to provide C checks and modifications for 30 Airbus A320 family of aircraft in ANA's fleet over three years. Redelivery of the first aircraft is expected this month, with the last aircraft targeted for redelivery in March 2010. The induction came immediately after STARCO received its certification from the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB), making it the first MRO company in Shanghai to be awarded the certification to service Japanese-registered aircraft.
This transaction is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engineering for the current financial year.
"ANA has enjoyed an excellent business partnership with ST Aerospace for maintenance support on our fleet over the last decade. We are pleased to extend this relationship to its China facility, STARCO, based on high quality and best overall value considerations. We have found a partner in ST Aerospace and are confident that ST Aerospace will continue to ensure our operational reliability." said Hiroyuki ITO, Executive Vice President, Engineering & Maintenance, ANA
"Today's induction underscores the outstanding relationship between ANA and ST Aerospace. It also attests to ANA's confidence in ST Aerospace and the concept of our Global MRO Network to support our customers where they need us. We have a longstanding partnership with ANA through the maintenance support we provide in Singapore, and are delighted that we can extend this support to our JV Company STARCO. We look forward to continue strengthening our relationship with ANA through consistent high quality and performance." said TAY Kok Khiang, President, ST Aerospace
