GA-ASI and SENER Sign Teaming Agreement on Predator UAS Series

Collaboration Offers a Superior Management, Technical and Cost-Effective Approach

(San Diego, January 9, 2008) -- General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA‑ASI), a leading manufacturer of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and tactical reconnaissance radars, and SENER Ingenieria y Sistemas, S.A., a leading Spanish engineering, consulting and systems integration company, today announced that they have signed a teaming agreement that promotes use of the Predator(r) UAS series to support Spain's airborne surveillance and reconnaissance requirements.

"Our reliable and affordable Predator UAS series has provided nearly 400,000 flight hours of superior Intelligence, Reconnaissance and Surveillance [ISR] support to customers worldwide, including Italy, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States," said Thomas J. Cassidy, Jr., president, Aircraft Systems Group, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. "These aircraft offer a proven, versatile, and cost-effective solution that will meet Spain's surveillance requirements and expectations. We are pleased to team with SENER Ingenieria y Sistemas, S.A. in this important venture."

The combined capabilities of GA-ASI and SENER create a winning team uniquely positioned to provide Spain with a superior management, technical, and cost-effective response to satisfy the nation's domestic and international reconnaissance requirements for Defense and Security. The Predator series of unmanned aircraft provides persistent situational awareness. The aircraft have long demonstrated unmatched capabilities in safeguarding national borders and maritime approaches from illicit activities and immigration, supporting combat forces across the globe, and improving responses to natural disasters.

"We are proud of this partnership with GA-ASI that joins the demonstrated capabilities of the Predator system together with the experience of SENER in delivering ISR systems to the Spanish Defense and Security Forces through the adaptation and integration of platforms and sensors to the customer's specific needs," said Rafael Quintana, general manager for Aerospace, SENER Ingenieria y Sistemas, S.A. "The participation of SENER will also guarantee the required level of operational and logistical support to the system."
