Cubic Awarded $18.7 M for Virtual Small Arms Training Systems for U.S. Army and National Guard

(Orlando, FL., February 13, 2008) -- The defense segment of Cubic Corporation (AMEX: CUB) has received a $18.7 million order for Engagement Skills Trainer 2000 (EST 2000) small arms training systems and simulated weapons for the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard.

EST 2000, validated by the U.S. Army Infantry School, teaches marksmanship skills, squad-level collective defense, and judgmental "shoot-don't shoot" tactics. The system trains warriors in the use of small arms, the 50-caliber M-2 machine gun and the 40mm Mark-19 grenade launcher. Cubic's Simulation Systems Division, based in Orlando, produces and manufactures EST 2000, including its realistic and robust simulated weapons.

"Cubic and PEO STRI are committed to providing validated training to our warriors throughout the world," said Terry Kohl, vice president and general manager of the division. "This award will go far in bringing needed training to the Army National Guard troops at their homestations."
