NGC Appoints Timothy C. Jones Vice President of Air Force Programs
(Arlington, Va., February 13, 2008) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Timothy C. "T.C." Jones vice president of Air Force Programs for the company. Jones reports to Larry Lanzillotta, vice president of Customer Relations, which is part of the company's Washington, D.C. office.
As vice president of Air Force Programs, Jones will serve as the company's primary liaison for government customer representatives and coordinate customer interactions with its business sectors. He is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective customer contact, relations and a full understanding of Air Force customers' requirements.
"We support the Air Force on a broad range of critical programs; it is essential that we fully understand their challenges and needs," said Lanzillotta. "T.C. has the depth of knowledge and experience needed to ensure that we continue to work effectively with the Air Force and can best meet their future requirements."
Earlier this year, Jones retired from the U.S. Air Force after more than 30 years of service. His final assignment was Director of Programs, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force. He was promoted to major general in 2004.
During his Air Force career, Jones commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels. He had a leadership role in operations Deny Flight and Deliberate Force, enforcing various U.N. Security Council resolutions concerning Bosnia. During Operations Allied Force (Kosovo), Jones was Commander of the 60th Air Expeditionary Wing. A command pilot, Jones has 3,400 flight hours in T-37, B-52, FB-111, B-1, E-8, KC-135 and RC-135 aircraft.
Jones earned a bachelor's degree in history from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., and a master's degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He has also attended the Squadron Officer School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., the U.S. Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Quantico, Va., and the Royal College of Defence Studies, London, U.K.
