VEM Receives 'ANAC' Certification for F-100 Aircraft

(Rio de Janeiro, April 11, 2008) -- With heavy investments in expanding its business portfolio, VEM Maintenance & Engineering, which is already an aviation maintenance leader in Latin America, now adds another certification to its capabilities list. In March, the company has been approved by ANAC (Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency) to perform maintenance on the Fokker, F28-MK100 aircraft and its components.

VEM is a globally present company and is certified by the world's main aviation agencies, like the FAA (U.S.'s Federal Aviation Administration), EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), and the aviation regulatory agencies of other countries where the company has Customers. VEM was recently certified by EASA to perform maintenance on Airbus A310 and A300/A300-600 aircraft. In 2008, the FAA certified the company for the same models and for the B777. Besides Airbus, the company is certified for other aircraft models of Boeing, Embraer and Fokker fleets.

There is high demand for maintenance on F-100 aircraft on the domestic market, since many Brazilian operators have this aircraft in their fleets. VEM now supplies aircraft and component maintenance services for nearly all of these operators. This particular certification will keep currency in Brazil, since the labor will be Brazilian, and the airlines will not have to send their airplanes outside of the country.

"This is one more certification of great importance for VEM's businesses. We will continue to invest in the technical improvement of our workforce and in the evolution of our capabilities for aircraft and their components, in order to better serve our Customers", comments the company's Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Eng. Nestor Koch.
