DRS Awarded $20.4 M to Support Heavy Brigade Combat Team

(Parsippany, N.J., April 16, 2008) -- DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: DRS) announced today that it was awarded contracts totaling $20.4 million from the U.S. Army's Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) in Rock Island, Illinois, to support programs at the Army's office of Program Manager for Heavy Brigade Combat Team (PM HBCT) in Warren, Michigan.

The awards are follow-on to previously awarded contracts from the previous fiscal year. According to the contracts, DRS will be responsible for system technical support, technical updates and program management for the Direct Support Electrical System Test Sets (DSESTS) for the M1A1 AIM Abrams Embedded Diagnostic program and the Condition-Based Reliability Assessment (COBRA) program.

Work for these contracts began in January of this year with completion expected by January 2009. The company's DRS Test & Energy Management unit in Huntsville, Alabama, will perform all work associated with the contracts.

"The U.S. military's commitment to the long-term sustainability and reliability of their ground combat vehicles demand they have the best embedded diagnostic systems at their disposal," said Michael J. Sheehan, president of DRS' Tactical Systems business. "Our world class embedded diagnostic system helps ensure these vehicles are always in excellent working order and ready to be deployed at any moment."
