Implant Sciences Explosives Detector Complies with CE Regulations

CE Marking Opens Door to Wider Sales and Marketing of IMX Products

(Wakefield, Mass., April 25, 2008) -- Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: IMX), an established supplier of systems and sensors for the homeland security market and related industries, today announced it has obtained a certificate from an independent testing lab stating that its Quantum Sniffer(TM) QS-H150 Portable Explosives Detector complies with the requirements necessary for European Union CE Marking. CE Marking allows the Company to market, sell and export the H150 to all member countries of the European Union and European Free Trade Association as well as to countries in other parts of the world that require the CE Marking.

"The European Commission refers to the CE Marking of products as a "passport" which can allow a manufacturer to circulate its products within the European marketplace," said Phillip Thomas, CEO and President of Implant Sciences. "CE Marking for our H150 explosives detector is an important milestone which should extend our reach into countries recognizing or requiring the CE Marking for products. We believe there could be significant demand for our security products in the European market, which has been relatively untapped by us until CE compliance could be obtained. In addition to the CE Marking for the H150 system, we are also pursuing CE compliance for our new QS-B200 benchtop explosives trace detection (ETD) system. Lastly, we recognize that the CE Mark is not only a designation required for export into European Union countries, but is recognized as a noteworthy quality standard in other important countries throughout the world."
