Navistar Selects New Armor for MRAP
Hardwire to Supply Advanced Armor Components for Navistar's MRAP Vehicles

(Pocomoke City, Maryland, May 6, 2008) -- Hardwire LLC, a leading developer and supplier of advanced composite armor solutions to defeat the most difficult and emerging threats, has received a commitment from Navistar's military affiliate, Navistar Defense, LLC to provide armor components for NAVISTAR's MaxxProTM Plus Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. Terms of this agreement are undisclosed.

Hardwire's solutions were a product of development work first initiated by Hardwire for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which were later incorporated into design developments led by the Army Research Laboratory/ATC at Aberdeen, Maryland, and supported by Hardwire's supply chain partner, DSM Dyneema LLC. The armor upgrades are designed to provide additional protection against emerging threats.

"We're extremely pleased to have been selected by NAVISTAR to supply our armor solutions on their category-leading vehicle, and to play a part providing extra levels of protection to our valued warfighters overseas," stated Hardwire CEO George Tunis. "This is the culmination of well more than a year of work designing and developing solutions to protect against these new threats, and we're thankful for the continued support of DARPA, Aberdeen, and DSM Dyneema - who all share in the same goals. Even though our company is growing very rapidly across many industry segments, including various vehicle platforms for the military and in protecting critical domestic transportation infrastructure, our team kept its focus on delivering superior performance right on schedule."

"The DSM Dyneema - Hardwire strategic alignment has reached a new level as Hardwire has expanded from armor development into advanced armor manufacturing. DSM Dyneema will continue its active support in this new phase taken by Hardwire" added David Cordova - New Business Development Vice President - DSM Dyneema Life Protection Americas.
