P&W Wins Contract to Power Learjet 85 Aircraft
(Longueuil, Que., May 12, 2008) -- Pratt & Whitney Canada's PW307B engine has been selected by Bombardier Aerospace to power the all-new composite Learjet 85 midsize business jet.
The PW307B turbofan engine, rated in the 6,000-pound-thrust class, is the newest member of the increasingly popular PW300 family. The new-generation engine is designed to deliver superior performance, high durability and low operating economics, with significantly lower emission and noise levels. It also offers high dispatch reliability and easy maintenance.
"We aim to redefine the midsize category with the all-new Learjet 85 aircraft by offering customers superior performance, an extraordinary cabin and exceptional value," said David Coleal, vice-president and general manager, Learjet. "The PW307B is the perfect match for the Learjet 85, bringing some of the most advanced, greener engine technologies, together with P&WC's trademark dependability."
