Again Significant Increase in Turnover at KMW

- Increase in sales by about 30 percent
- Road to success continued

(Munich, May 15, 2008) -- In the reporting year 2007 Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) was able to considerably increase the turnover again. It experienced a leap in turnover of about 30 percent to approx. 1.3 billion EUR. With more than 3 billion EUR compared to the previous year, the backlog of orders 2006 is still on an unchanged high level and contributes to the long-term ensuring of the business success.

Thus, KMW has continued its successful course as leading system house for wheeled and tracked vehicles in Europe and was confirmed in its strategic alignment so far.

"In 2007, we continued our road to success and are able to present a continuous positive development that has been extending for several years now. We are on solid ground and possess plenty of room in order to advantageously improve our company's future in a highly complex market environment. " says Frank Haun, CEO of KMW.

New jobs were again created

Also in the fiscal year 2007, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann was able to create 150 new jobs. A total of more than 20 percent of the KMWemployees are working in the R&D-area.

European Network

The decisive factor for the success of the strategic development of the previous year was the consequent international organization of the company which shall be further developed in the following years. As general contractor for leading reference products like the combat tank LEOPARD 2, the armoured howitzer PzH2000 or the DINGO 2, KMW is well positioned in Europe via a broad and strong network of partnerships, cooperations and subsidiaries in Europe.

Those include amongst others the subsidiaries in Greece, in the Netherlands and the United States. Furthermore, there are existing partnerships with General Dynamics Santa Barbara Systemas in Spain, Oto Melara in Italy and Rheinmetall in Germany.

The solid business basis which is geared to cooperation also in Germany thus constitutes an excellent starting point for further European and international business successes.
