AS&E Receives Latin American ZBV Order

Contract marks first ZBV sale into this Latin American country

(Billerica, Mass., May 19, 2008) -- American Science and Engineering, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASEI) (AS&E(R)), a leader in X-ray detection technology, announced today the receipt of an order for two Z Backscatter Vans(TM) (ZBV(TM)) for a Latin American customs agency. The order includes operator training, service, and warranty.
