CAE to Provide Navy With MH-60R Maintenance Trainers

(Tampa, Fla., May 21, 2008) -- CAE USA has won a competitive procurement to design and manufacture MH-60R avionics maintenance trainers (AMT) for the United States Navy. The contract is valued at over US$16 million including options.

The MH-60R AMT will provide transition and readiness training for MH-60R avionics electronics technicians. The maintenance training device will be used to demonstrate, instruct and provide hands-on experience on maintaining the MH-60R helicopter, which is used by the Navy for anti-submarine warfare and surface attack. The initial MH-60R AMT will be delivered to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) in Jacksonville, Florida in 2010.

"We are pleased to expand our relationship with the Navy on the MH-60R program by adding the maintenance personnel along with pilots and rear crew members to the list of Navy personnel who will use CAE-built training devices for training and mission preparation," said John Lenyo, President and General Manager, CAE USA. "Maintenance training is an area of focus for CAE due to the critical need to train maintenance personnel with high-fidelity, simulation-based, interactive solutions that can deliver greater benefits, such as cost-effectiveness, enhanced safety, and improved readiness."
