CAE-Built Boeing 777 Simulator Achieves Level D Qualification
(Montreal, July 9, 2008) -- CAE today announced that a Boeing 777 full-flight simulator the company designed and manufactured for Delta Air Lines has become the world's first-ever simulator to achieve Level D certification, the highest qualification for flight simulators, under the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) new Part 60 rule.
The FAA's National Simulator Program aims to improve aviation safety through the application of regulations and standards governing the qualification of flight simulation training devices (FSTD). At the end of May, the FAA implemented more standardized and stringent qualification requirements for initial and continuing use of FSTDs under the Part 60 rule.

The CAE-built 7000 Series Boeing 777-300ER FFS was delivered to Delta's training centre in Atlanta, Georgia in May and achieved the Level D qualification from the FAA on June 26.
