Air Engiadina Adds An AW119 Ke Helicopter To Its Fleet
(July 14, 2008) -- AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Air Engiadina (operated by Swiss Jet) of Switzerland has added an AW119 Ke single engine to its helicopter fleet. The helicopter, which is used for sightseeing, air taxi and VIP flights, is being displayed at Farnborough International Air Show - marking the first appearance of this upgraded model at the event. Air Engiadina (operated by Swiss Jet) already operates an AW119 Koala helicopter and one Grand light twin and has ordered two AW139 medium twin helicopters as well. This latest addition is further evidence of the AW119 Ke success in the world market as an unrivalled helicopter in its category for performance, capacity and operational flexibility.
An evolution of the successful A119 Koala, the eight-seat AW119 Ke (Koala enhanced) is a high performance, modern, multi-role single-engine helicopter. With a Maximum Take-Off Weight of 2,850 Kg (6,283 lb), the AW119 Ke offers its customer an unmatched payload/range capability that makes it second to none in its class. Thanks to the combination of the single powerful Pratt & Whitney 1,002 shp turbine engine and new state-of-the-art main rotor blades the AW119 Ke meets the most demanding hot and high operational requirements.
The AW119 Ke is faster than its competitors and offers the largest cabin and luggage capacity of any helicopter in its weight class with the lowest cost per seat-mile. Almost 180 helicopters have been ordered to date in more than 20 countries by nearly 80 customers to perform a number of missions including VIP/corporate transport, utility, EMS, offshore transport and law enforcement.
