SAIC Awarded $26 M from DoD Office for Nuclear Matters

Company to Provide Nuclear Matters Professional Services

(San Diego and McLean, Va., July 21, 2008) -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) announced today that it has been awarded the Nuclear Matters Professional Services contract by the Office of the Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters to provide a broad range of technical and analysis services. This prime contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of more than $26 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in the National Capitol Region.

The office oversees and develops the plans for a safe, secure, and credible nuclear stockpile, and plays a crucial leadership role in ongoing efforts to transform the stockpile to meet future security needs. Under the contract, SAIC will complete a variety of nuclear-related technical assessments and deliver a series of recommendation documents that outline meaningful change necessary for the office to continue providing superior support to the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the national and worldwide nuclear communities. SAIC services will include research and technical analysis consulting, project integration and program management. SAIC will also provide product support such as reports, briefings, documentation development and production, and training.

"We are pleased to continue providing support to activities that help maintain a credible U.S. nuclear deterrent," said Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "For two decades, we have supported the U.S. Federal Government in their efforts to build diverse, flexible and responsive capabilities to thwart current and evolving challenges to national security. We look forward to helping our customer carry on this mission well into the future."
