Saab Wins Contract for Tactical and Gunnery Training to Estonia
(August 21, 2008) -- The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Estonia has awarded Saab Training Systems, Sweden a contract for an instrumented training system. The system will allow the Estonian Army to conduct realistic exercises for both tactical and gunnery training.
"We are proud to have been selected for this order, which constitutes our first order in the Baltic region," says Claes-Peter Cederlof, marketing director Saab Training Systems. "The Estonian Army will be an important customer and a valuable partner in the future."
The tactical system provides the capability for live training with vehicles and infantry, enabling all direct fire, indirect fire and area weapons to be simulated, controlled and monitored within a realistic scenario. The system enables improvements in operational and mission skills for soldiers and officers.
The gunnery training capability provides effective gunnery training with anti-tank simulators with high levels of realism.
