SAIC Awarded $48 M Task Order by NSWC - Crane Division

Company to Help Develop and Integrate Weapon Systems

(San Diego and McLean, Va., September 16, 2008) -- Science Applications International Corporation [NYSE: SAI] today announced it has been awarded a task order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) -- Crane Division to provide engineering, technical, and management services. The follow-on task order, awarded under the SeaPort-e contract, has a two-year base period of performance, three one-year options and a total value of more than $48 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed at NSWC Crane and SAIC locations throughout Indiana.

The Crane Division is one of five divisions of NSWC which maintains a full spectrum research, development, acquisition, test and evaluation, and support capability for surface warfare combat and weapon systems and hull, mechanical, and electrical systems. Under the task order, SAIC will continue to support the Small Arms Weapons Systems Division by helping develop, integrate and improve new and existing weapon systems. SAIC will also provide engineering, technical, and management support in the areas of scientific/engineering analysis, test and evaluation, field engineering, configuration management, and overhaul and maintenance.

"This task order award continues our longstanding relationship with the NSWC Crane in the area of rotary-wing and surface platform small arms systems integration," said Tom Baybrook, SAIC senior vice president and business unit manager. "The work SAIC will perform is vital to providing our warfighters with the systems they need to do their jobs and we are honored to be part of it."
