NASA Extends SAIC Contract Valued at $212 M
Company to Continue to Provide Information Technology Services Agency-Wide
(San Diego and McLean, Va., September 18, 2008) -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has extended the period of performance for the Unified NASA Information Technology Services (UNITeS) contract, previously awarded to SAIC in January 2004. This 11 month program extension, valued at more than $212 million, raises the ceiling value of the contract to more than $1.1 billion and extends the contract through November of 2009.
Under the extension, SAIC will continue to provide information technology (IT) services to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., and support all NASA Centers, including NASA Headquarters and support for NASA's international sites and networks. SAIC will also provide services in support of NASA's wide area network, information technology security, digital television, and Integrated Enterprise Management Program.
