Harris Adds PacStar to NETCENTS Offerings to Support DoD
Leading IT Services Provider is the Only NETCENTS Contractor to Offer Cisco Unified Communications Platform to Meet Key DISA Requirements
(Dulles, VA., September 23, 2008) -- Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has added key products from PacStar(tm), a technology-based provider of communications solutions to the military and government, to its offerings under the U.S. Air Force Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract. The solutions - PacStar 6300, PacStar 6350, PacStar 6800 and PacStar 6800-T - are the only products available on the market using the Cisco Unified Communications platform that are designed to meet the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Digital Voice eXchange and Small End Office standards. Harris IT Services is the only NETCENTS contract holder offering PacStar solutions.
Through this agreement, Harris IT Services will offer NETCENTS customers communications solutions that can be installed at a base or deployed in rugged field conditions, and are designed to meet the needs of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customers and coalition partners. The PacStar 6000 series will serve as the core communications system for a robust, integrated solution to meet requirements as DoD agencies transition to Everything Over Internet Protocol. Harris IT Services also offers a full services suite including engineering design, deployment, installation and maintenance support for PacStar products.
"We are very pleased to be working with Harris to provide PacStar technologies through the NETCENTS contract," said Robert Frisbee, chief executive officer of PacStar. "PacStar takes great pride in being able to provide deployable and enterprise communications platforms to the U.S. military, its allies and partners to deliver information to remote, and often dangerous field conditions. We look forward to being able to provide further mission-critical solutions with our partnership with Harris."
"Harris is excited to be the first to provide our defense customers with a much needed capability to deploy reliable, interoperable communications systems in a rugged field environment as well as for the base infrastructure," said Ted Hengst, president of Harris IT Services. "We look forward to being able to provide these solutions through our partnership with PacStar, and are proud to offer their high-quality solutions through NETCENTS."
