Chevron Orders 2 AW139 Helicopters

(October 7, 2008) -- AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that Chevron has ordered two AW139 medium twin helicopters configured for offshore use. The ceremony took place at AgustaWestland's booth during this week's NBAA convention in Orlando, Florida.

With this order, Chevron will have a total of six AW139s in their fleet. The AW139s will operate from company heliports at Intracoastal City, Leeville and Venice, Louisiana, in support of offshore production and drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The AW139 provides Chevron with the safety necessary to conduct flights 250 nautical miles offshore. Chevron's aircraft operations in the Gulf of Mexico began in 1950 with two helicopters and one floatplane. Today, Chevron fleet comprises of 30 helicopters.
