(EXTON, Pa, Oct. 21, 2005) -- On October 14th, Innovative Solutions & Support, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISSC) announced that the Canadian Department of National Defense (CDND) placed an initial $2.4 million order with the Company in September for Flat Panel Display Systems for their fleet of C-130 airplanes. Options worth an additional $1.0 million are expected to be exercised in the current quarter. The program utilizes the Company's patented FAA certified Flat Panel products.
This Engine Instrument Display System upgrade replaces more than 40 electromechanical instruments providing an improved user interface and significant logistics savings. The CDND awarded this program to IS&S after successful ground and flight testing. Deliveries to the Canadian Forces began in FY2005.
The C-130 cargo aircraft is manufactured by Lockheed Martin, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Over 1,500 C-130 aircraft continue in operation by more than 60 nations throughout the world.
